Dzungsrt & Associates LLC has significantly focused on both international commercial arbitration and international investment arbitration. The firm has closely worked with a number of international law firms in the settlement of maritime, commercial and investment disputes by way of international arbitration conducted under different arbitration rules such as ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, SIAC, HKIAC, JCAA and VIAC. Additionally, our lawyers have been instructed to provide legal opinions and affidavits on matters relating to Vietnamese law to be submitted to Arbitral Tribunals where disputes involve Vietnamese parties. Representative cases in the field of international arbitration include:

  • Acting as co-legal counsel to a Tanzanian Importer – the Claimant in relation to a sale contract dispute before the VIAC.
  • Acting as an expert witness for a French contractor – the Claimant in a construction dispute with the Vietnamese investor before an ICC Arbitration Tribunal with the seat of arbitration in Singapore.
  • Acting as legal counsel to Singapore and Hong Kong global trading companies in relation to sales contract disputes before the VIAC
  • Acting as co-legal counsel for a Vietnamese textile corporation as the Defendant in a joint venture dispute with an American investor in an ICC Arbitration with the seat in Singapore.
  • Acting as co-legal counsel to a Japanese company in several court proceedings against a Vietnamese state authority in relation to a number of ICC arbitrations.
  • Acting as co-legal counsel to an international investment fund in relation to a dispute involving a share purchase contract before the VIAC.
  • Acting as counsel to a Vietnamese company in a sales contract dispute with a US company before the VIAC.
  • Acting as legal counsel to a foreign invested company, who was the manufacturer and contractor of steel building products, in a VIAC arbitration on a construction project against the Malaysian subcontractor;
  • Acting as legal counsel to several trading companies, both local and international, in relation to sale contract disputes at the VIAC;
  • Acting as legal counsel to a BVI Company, operating in Hong Kong, in relation to the recognition and enforcement of a very significant SIAC award in Vietnam;
  • Acting as co-legal counsel to an international trading group in relation to the recognition and enforcement in Vietnam of ten foreign arbitral awards of several US$ million in value;
  • Acting as legal counsel to an international trading company in relation to the recognition and enforcement of three foreign arbitral awards in Vietnam;
  • Acting as legal counsel to several Singapore companies in relation to the recognition and enforcement of a number of arbitral awards in Vietnam;
  • Acting as legal counsel to a Korean – US partnership in relation to the recognition and enforcement of a SIAC arbitral award in Vietnam;
  • Acting as legal counsel to a Russian company in relation to the recognition and enforcement of an ICAC arbitral award in Vietnam;
  • Acting for a very famous French invested retailer in a number of arbitrations on contractual disputes relating to the development of supermarkets in Vietnam;
  • Advising a Japanese company, who was the contractor in a large public infrastructure project, on the possibility of pursuing the Vietnamese investor in court or arbitration;
  • Acting as co-legal counsel to a French invested company in relation to a service contract dispute at the VIAC in Hanoi;
