| I would regret to announce my withdrawal from the Board of Directors of the Pacific International Arbitration Center (the PIAC). This unfortunate decision resulted from a lack of necessary financial and human resources that seriously hampered the PIAC’s restructuring as required by the new 2010 Law on Commercial Arbitration of Vietnam which came into force on 01st January 2011.
I am however taking this opportunity to build a promising arbitration practice and have decided to offer an ad-hoc arbitration service as provided in Articles 30, 35.3 & 41 of the 2010 Law on Commercial Arbitration of Vietnam. I greatly value our professional relationship and would encourage your use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) as an effective tool to settle disputes. My substantial knowledge and experience allow me to conduct international arbitration under a variety of arbitral rules, such as UNCITRAL, ICC, JCAA, SIAC and VIAC. I am also wholly prepared to take appointment as your mediator under the UNCITRAL Conciliation Rules or the ADR Rules of the International Chamber of Commerce. As a cost-effective method of dispute resolution, commercial mediation is, in essence, specifically suitable for the current economic climate.
